Occasions Category Manager

As the OTR Occasions Category Manager, you will be responsible for driving the success of our Occasions category within our OTR division.

Leading the strategic development, execution, and growth of this category, ensuring that our offerings meet the evolving needs and preferences of our customers.

This role requires a combination of strong analytical skills, creativity, and business acumen to drive category growth and profitability. Contribute to solving the challenge of the occasion and making life easy for our stores and customers.

Your Contributions

• Produce and communicate an annual category plan for each occasion, prioritise actions and implement the plan.
• Negotiate with suppliers to set terms that reflect the OTR business plan - Ensure lines reflect occasion trends in the marketplace to ensure OTR remains relevant and solves the challenge of the occasion for our customers.
• Manage product assortment, pricing, and inventory levels to optimise sales and profitability.
• Utilise data analytics and insights to make informed decisions and continuously improve category performance.
• Build strong vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with terms and agreements.
• Monitor and evaluate category performance against key metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve business objectives.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, serving as a subject matter expert for the Occasions category.

What we are looking for

• 4+ years of experience in category management, product management, or related roles, preferably in the retail industry.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing category strategies that drive growth and profitability.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and driving change.
