The Role

The Quality officer will support the delivery of the Quality strategy, in conjunction with the National Quality Manager for OTR Group and its brands.

Responsibilities

The Quality Officer role is responsible for delivering a stringent Quality Standard to ensure compliance across all relevant suppliers and product initiatives. They will also support the investigation of quality issues and work collaboratively with & engage key stakeholders to facilitate compliance across the business.

You will provide:

• Support the delivery for supplier accountability & performance in food safety, legality, compliance, responsible sourcing and repeatable quality.
• Consult with and perform key tasks to assess suppliers to manage Quality.
• Undertakes activities relevant to Food Safety & Quality as per scheduled requirements including but not limited to Supplier manufacturing audits and product testing.
• Ensure product compliance with all applicable laws and regulations throughout the product lifecycle.
• Create value through product maintenance and quality enhancements in partnership with other team members across OTR Group brands Convenience teams.
• Maintain a Product Life cycle QMS for Private Label products
• Collaborate with Central and Site Operations to ensure food safety and quality systems and processes are in place and up to date.
• Maintain Shelf-Life systems / programs for the OTR Group excluding QSR’s
• Maintain Food Safety Hazard Risk Registers for all food offers including Krispy Kreme and QSR’s.

About You

Skills & Abilities

• Proven analytical, problem solving & time management skills.
• Agility & Adaptability 
• Communication & stakeholder engagement
• Strong knowledge of HACCP food safety programs and requirements to mitigate food incident risks while maximising customer satisfaction.
• Strong understanding in traceability programs and verification.
• Product withdrawal and recall end to end processes experience.
• Experience working with legislation, internal policy & guidelines.
• Working knowledge of product development.
• Car License
• Ability to travel interstate as required – including nights away.

Desired background experience

• Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field i.e. Science, Microbiology or Chemistry
• Experience in food safety / Quality auditing.
• Demonstrated experience working in retail or food service supply base.
• Working knowledge into trending industry sustainability and animal welfare practices (RSPCA, RFA, recycling)
• Proven experience in supplier management, investigations, corrective action, audit response & data analysis
